#Merky Books is an award-winning imprint launched by Stormzy and Penguin Random House UK in 2018. Our ambition is to publish books that will own – and change – the mainstream. With inclusivity and intersectionality at the heart of what we do, and we are known for publishing authors from the global majority, telling bold, exciting stories, expanding our understanding across fiction and non-fiction.

#Merky Books is home to culturally significant titles such as Keisha the Sket by Jade LB and Taking Up Space by Chelsea Kwakye and Ore Ogunbiyi, The Race to Be Myself by Caster Semenya and Just Sayin’ by Malorie Blackman.

Our #Merky Books New Writers’ Prize is now in its sixth year and has produced a rich crop of new writing talent from various walks of life. Winners include William Rayfet Hunter, Jyoti Patel, Monika Radojevic and Hafsa Zayyan.
