Jonathan Cape, an imprint of VINTAGE, to publish a new novel by Ian McEwan, Nutshell, in September 2016.

Dan Franklin, Associate Publisher at Jonathan Cape, has acquired UK & Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, from Peter Straus at Rogers Coleridge & White.

Nutshell is a classic story of murder and deceit, told by a narrator with a perspective and voice unlike any in recent literature. A bravura performance, it is the finest recent work from a true master.

Dan Franklin says: ‘This is an amazing book. You first gasp with astonishment, then laugh with delight.’
Michal Shavit, Publishing Director, says: 'Love and betrayal, life and death come together in the most unexpected ways in this sensational new novel from Ian McEwan. We are thrilled and proud to be publishing Nutshell this autumn.’
