Penguin Random House partners with Sony Music to release ‘How It Works – The Dad – The Album’

Penguin Random House is delighted to announce an innovative new partnership with Sony Music Entertainment which will see the release of ‘How It Works – The Dad – The Album’ on 3rd June - the first album to be inspired by the hugely successful ‘Ladybird Books for Grown-Ups’ series.

‘How It Works – The Dad – The Album’ will be a 3CD collection of some of the most iconic music tracks from the 70s, 80s and beyond including classics such as Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’, Starship’s We Built This City and Cheap Trick’s I Want You To Want Me. ‘How It Works – The Dad – The Album’ delivers everything you’d expect for an album with a boy and his dad hammering a boat together on its cover.

Utilising the same original artwork as per the book, the album will serve as the only audio bible dads will need and will undoubtedly make a great gift this Father’s Day for any dad.

“The team at Sony Music have brought a fresh and new creative approach to using the Ladybird Books for Grown-Ups brand. Through careful collaboration we’ve developed a fun, innovative product that really captures the spirit and voice of ‘How it Works: The Dad’,” said Damian Treece, Brand Manager, Penguin Ventures.
