Vermilion’s Richard Lennon moves over to Penguin Random House Audio
Penguin Random House UK Audio has appointed Richard Lennon as Editorial Director, briefed to help shape and deliver the audio its ambitious strategy.
Richard is currently Editorial Director at Vermilion. Starting on 28th November in his new role, he will lead the team in working with authors, performance and production talent to commission and publish audio bestsellers.
Richard will report to Hannah Telfer, M.D. for UK Audio and Group Director for Consumer and Digital Development, under who UK Audio was established as a standalone division earlier this year.
Richard joined Penguin in 2010 to run PR and marketing for the launch of the business publishing list Portfolio Penguin, adding further responsibility for lifestyle imprint Penguin Life in 2015. His campaigns have included business and personal development titles such as Eric Ries’s The Lean Startup, Michael Woodford’s Exposure, and Josh Kaufman’s The Personal MBA. He also helped acquire titles including James Wallman’s Stuffocation, Michael Hayman and Nick Giles’s Mission and James Reed’s Why You? and worked on brand-led publishing projects with the ASK Italian restaurant chain and Airbnb. His recent acquisitions as Editorial Director for Vermilion include Tools of Titans by Tim Ferris.

In addition to Richard’s appointment, Samantha Halstead has been promoted to Senior Commissioning Editor at Penguin, and Duncan Honeyman to Senior Commissioning Editor for Random House. Both will report to Richard.
