Penguin Random House scores a hat-trick of accolades at the Licensing Awards

Congratulations to Penguin Random House Children’s and Ventures teams following three wins last night at the Licensing Awards.

The awards recognise the best from the licensing industry in terms of product design, quality and innovation. Over 1,400 retailers, licensors, licensees and industry executives were in attendence at The Grosvenor House Hotel, London.

Our Doctor Who Mr. Men Books won the ‘Best Licensed Written, Listening or Learning Range’ category. This mashup of two iconic British brands launched in April 2017, with the first four titles wowing Whovians and Mr Men fans alike with their combination of striking design and out-of-this-world wit. The series continued with four more titles in August, and fan favourite Dr. Tenth will follow in a Christmas special later this year.

Ladybird Books for Grown-Ups Greeting Cards were also successful on the night, winning the award for ‘Best Licensed Paper Products or Stationary Range’. Following the runaway success of the book series for Michael Joseph, Penguin Ventures have developed a full licensing programme for Ladybird Books for Grown-Ups, with Danilo's series of greetings cards perfectly celebrating the irony of the brand.

Finally, the Peter Rabbit Collection for Mothercare won the Best Licensed Preschool Apparel Range (0-5 years) award. This gorgeous range from Dennicci was launched during the 150th Anniversary of Beatrix Potter in 2016 and is Mothercare’s best-performing licensed brand over the past ten years.

Congratulations to all of our winners. To find out more about Penguin Ventures and their licensing opportunities, see here.
