Penguin Random House to publish book in collaboration with the WWF

Penguin Random House is publishing a book in collaboration with WWF UK that is a simple and achievable guide to greener living. The book, entitled Small Acts to Save Our World, is due for publication in September 2018 in hardback and ebook.

The collaboration was secured between Georgie Bridge and Guy Jowett at WWF, and Ajda Vucicevic and Ben Brusey at Century, an imprint of Penguin Random House.

Drawing on decades of work and scientific research conducted by leading experts at WWF, the book will present readers with many small everyday changes that can combine to have a big impact on the health of our planet; from oceans to forests, wildlife to climate change. It will include short chapters on how to eat and shop for more sustainable food, reduce plastic waste and packaging, buy more ethical clothing, lower energy consumption and manage travel footprints. WWF will be working with Penguin Random House to ensure the book is produced in a sustainable way, including 100% of the paper used being FSC certified.

The announcement comes ahead of WWF’s Earth Hour this Saturday 24 March at 8.30pm, a global movement where millions of people across the world come together to show they care about the future of our planet.

Georgie Bridge, Director of Brand at WWF UK, says: "We’re thrilled to be bringing the Panda and the Penguin together for this new book. This Earth Hour we’re inspiring people to make a promise for the planet – to make small changes in their lives that will have a positive effect on the environment. So it’s the perfect time to unite two such iconic brands to create something that can empower people to make a difference."

Ajda Vucicevic says: "Last year’s Blue Planet series was a watershed moment in public awareness about the threats to our environment. We know the time is now to act before it’s too late, which is why we are delighted to be collaborating with the world’s leading conservation organization WWF. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when the problems facing us seem so big, but this book shows that every small act can make a difference. It brilliantly brings to light what we can all do, and I know will empower people everywhere to take positive action."
