About Preface

Preface publishes a wide range of non-fiction that includes restaurant-based cookbooks (Hawksmoor at Home, J Sheekey: Fish, Comptoir Libanais) and the recipe books of internationally celebrated chefs such as Francesco Mazzei. We also publish military history (Peter Caddick-Adams), Wainwright Prize-winner Hugh Thomson, bestselling railway historian Michael Williams, humour (we are long-time publisher of the legendary Radio 4 comedy I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue), narrative history (Henry Hemming and Diana Atkinson) and memoirs including Kenton Cool’s One Man’s Everest, the extraordinary story of the greatest mountaineer of his generation. Preface also creates exquisite illustrated books for international high-value brands including Patek Philippe, Pinewood Studios, Soho House, The Groucho Club, Marbella Club and Davidoff. Preface is also home to historical fiction writer Ben Kane whose novels, set in ancient Rome, consistently appear in the Sunday Times bestsellers lists.
