A brief history of Bantam Press
Launched in 1985, Bantam Press was Transworld’s first hardback imprint. The list attracted many bestselling authors, such as Jilly Cooper, Frederick Forsyth and Robert Goddard, who remain on the list to this day. In May 1988 Bantam Press published Stephen Hawking’s groundbreaking book A Brief History of Time, which has gone on to sell over 2 million copies. Since then, Bantam Press has launched many internationally bestselling authors such as Andy McNab, Lee Child, Sophie Kinsella and Dan Brown, as well as publishing a wide range of prestigious and successful non-fiction writers, including Richard Dawkins and Paul McKenna.
