Andy Saunders is one of the world's foremost experts of NASA digital restoration and author of the Sunday Times bestselling Apollo Remastered. His work has been exhibited internationally, and he collaborated with Tom Hanks to produce The Moonwalkers – an immersive show telling the story of the Apollo missions. Andy Serkis is best known for revolutionising performance-capture acting with his portrayal of Gollum in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, a role that brought him international recognition. He went on to play King Kong in Peter Jackson’s King Kong, Caesar in the Planet of the Apes films, and Supreme Leader Snoke in Star Wars, among others. Additional credits include acclaimed performances in The Prestige, Black Panther and The Batman, as well as award-winning television programs such as Andor and Longford. 
 
Andy has also established himself as a director with films including Breathe, Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, and Venom: Let There Be Carnage. His contributions to cinema have been recognised with a BAFTA Award for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema, multiple Empire Awards, Saturn Awards, and a Daytime Emmy, along with several nominations from BAFTA and the Golden Globes. In 2011, he co-founded The Imaginarium Studios, a leading production and performance-capture company. Andy lives in London with his family.

After completing a degree in zoology, Andy spent ten years in the British Forces as a paratrooper, diver and bomb disposal officer, including serving with the Airborne Brigade, the Army’s Underwater Bomb Disposal Team and the Maritime Counter Terrorist Group. He was involved in operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Kosovo, Northern Ireland and the Falklands. 
 
Andy started diving at the age of twelve and has been at it ever since; on operations in the Forces, on commercial vessels, over sunken cities, in caves, deep wrecks and across abundant reefs. He has a long list of technical diving qualifications, including cave, mixed-gas, rebreather and freediving as well as his professional qualifications as a military and commercial diver and supervisor. 
 
Since growing up in the wilds of Scotland, Andy has always had a fascination with the natural world. Although his diving has exposed him to some amazing marine biology he maintains a varied interest in wildlife, specialising in the evolution and behavioural ecology of carnivores at university. He’s also a highly qualified mountaineering and climbing instructor, caver, sea-kayaker, boat operator and extreme sportsman. 
 
Andy is also a regular television presenter, who first appeared on BBC Scotland. He recently co-presented Operation Iceberg on BBC1 and The People Remember on BBC2 in the UK and Discovery Channel internationally, as well as the tenth and final series of Coast.
