Making children smile with McCain and Ladybird Treasured Tales

We worked with McCain to offer our wonderful Ladybird Treasured Tales through an on-pack promotion on their McCain Smiles.

Customers were able to choose a book from a collection of six Treasured Tales - including Goldilocks and The Gingerbread Man - by collecting two unique codes and entering them on McCain’s mini site. The promotion was supported by literacy trust Words for Life, which gave helpful tips on enjoying story time with your children.

The campaign won the 2013 Gold Award for on-pack promotions at the IPM Awards.

Jack Wills: Back to School

We partnered with Jack Wills for a Back-to-School promotion, creating beautiful bespoke editions of three of our hardback classics.

Shoppers were able to claim a free branded edition of the much-loved books when they spent over £70 in store. The promotion ran throughout September exclusively in Jack Wills stores, and was accompanied by Facebook, Twitter and blog activity across the Penguin and Jack Wills channels.

Bulldog Classic Reads: an exclusive collection

We teamed up with British skincare brand Bulldog to create skincare and book sets to coincide with Father’s Day.

Four Classic Reads books were custom-designed and paired with a specially chosen Bulldog product. Duos included Bulldog Original Face Scrub with The War of the Worlds, and Bulldog Sensitive Moisturiser with The Time Machine.

Launched exclusively at Waitrose stores, the collaboration secured coverage in the design press and national media, with praise for the sets appearing in Bazaar, Shortlist, Sport Magazine, The Grocer and Stylist.

Starting school with Ladybird and Clarks

Ladybird’s Back-to-School campaign included a partnership with Clarks for the launch of its first-ever My First School Shoes promotion.

We created a bespoke Ladybird Let’s Start School book with content tailored for the Clarks campaign, and also launched the Ladybird Starting School podcast in collaboration with the store.

Some 250,000 books were given to My First School Shoes customers across 750 UK stores during the six-week campaign.
