About John Hegley

John Hegley is an established author, most famous for his children’s book Stanley's Stick, but also his numerous comic poetry collections, including Peace, Love and Potatoes. He has produced ten books of verse and prose pieces, two CDs and one mug, and he performs live in venues across the UK.

An Edinburgh Fringe Festival regular, he is noted for his exploration of such diverse topics as dog hair, potatoes, handkerchieves and the misery of human existence. He appears on television and radio and his poems have been featured regularly in the Guardian. He has appeared frequently on BBC Radio, having written and starred in a number of comic plays and a short comedy series.
