Maria Antonieta “Marianto” is a planner. At twenty-seven, she has her life perfectly mapped out – a long-term relationship with her dream man, Alejandro, and a coveted job at Latin America's biggest digital magazine. Her future is set; she's sure of it.

Until everything falls apart overnight. Within hours Marianto loses her boyfriend and her job. Determined to win both back, she comes up with an idea that is ingenious, if not delusional – an article documenting a series of romantic experiments to get her ex back. The Ex-Perimento.

In the meantime, Marianto has to work on Venezuela's hottest new talent show to support herself. Her role? Personal assistant to Colombian heartthrob and lead singer of her favourite indie band, Simón Arreaza.

It's only her second day on the job when Simón discovers Marianto's list of experiments and replaces each idea with a better one of his own. After she begins to see results, Marianto and Simón form a surprising alliance . . . and then get caught in a whirlwind of unexpected romance of their own.
