James E. Mack served in the Royal Marines before passing selection for a special operations unit. During his subsequent military career, he operated against terrorist organisations around the globe, going undercover, running surveillance and thwarting extremist attacks. Having survived shootings, bombings, double agents and kidnap attempts, James now works as a freelance counter insurgency advisor to UK and international agencies, and has played a key role in civilian extractions, counter-terror operations and anti-poaching programs across thirty countries. He lives on the remote west coast of Scotland, where he skis and surfs.
